Tomorrow sees the NIHL Blaze play in their first game since their Semi-Final defeat by the Sting back in the NIHL2 Playoffs earlier this year. We take on the Oxford Rising Stars of the NIHL2 South, whom last year finished in 9th in the league.

The Rising Stars played in twenty-two league games last season, winning six of them alongside losing the other sixteen, which included one overtime loss. In those games, they scored eighty-five goals whilst conceding one-hundred and twenty-eight in the process. They also iced in ten cup games, winning only one which was not good enough to qualify for the next round.

Warren Jones, Chris Beckett and Joe Edwards led the Rising Stars in scoring last year with twenty-eight, twenty-three and fifteen points over the season, respectively. Kayla Poole, who played in the majority of the Rising Stars games between the pipes last season, is also back with a 5.49 GAA and a .881 Save % under their belt from last season.

We iced in a pre-season game last year against the Stars, too. We rode out 4-2 winners in that game, with goals courtesy of Coney, Smith and two from Brookes.

We are looking forward to getting back onto the ice following a couple of positive training sessions over the summer. The game faces-off at 6:15PM and all tickets are £5! Get down to support the team.
