IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are pleased to announce the return of 22-year-old defenceman, Daniel Upton, for the 2024/25 season.

Upton, a product of the Blaze Academy, registered 2 points (2 assist), and 20 penalty-minutes in 32 appearances for the NIHL Blaze last season.

On re-signing for the NIHL Blaze Upton said…

“I am excited to be back for my 4th season with the team and can’t wait to hit the season hard and challenge for the league title.”

“We have a good looking team for next season and I believe we can progress further from the fantastic season we had last year.”

“I feel I am in the best shape I have ever been in and playing some of my best hockey so hopefully, I can bring more to the team this year and help the team push for silverware.”

NIHL Blaze Head Coach, Sean Alderson said…

“Dan has been with us now for three seasons and has shown good progress, becoming a steady reliable defenceman.”

“Over the course of last season he also showed great flexibility, playing up and down the lines as well as playing both on the left and right.”
